All About MOMs

MOMs is all about YOU. Our program runs on Thursday mornings and is designed as a ‘time out’ for busy moms. We hope that you’ll enjoy this time of sharing, learning, getting to know other moms – and getting to sit and drink an entire cup of coffee while it’s still hot.

Our sessions are packed full of compelling speakers, fun new activities, lively discussion topics, and great tips for organizing your home and your heart.

There are so many ways for you to get involved by volunteering to help with snack, signing up to share a devotion, joining our committee, participating in our sessions, or simply saying hi to the person sitting next to you. We can’t wait to get to know you better.

Here’s a snapshot of a typical morning.

  • 09.00  Arrival + Child Drop-Off
  • 09.15  Coffee + Snack Time
  • 09.30  The Main Event
  • 11.00  Clean Up
  • 11.15  Child Pick-Up

Registration

Complete Winter Session: $25

Drop-In: $5/morning

Your registration fee helps pay for program costs including childcare snacks + activities, speaker honorariums, and thank you gifts for our childcare volunteers. Fees are paid in person to Heidi Nighswander Rempel, our finance coordinator, at any one of our Thursday morning sessions.
If you still have questions, don’t hesitate to get in touch with a committee member. We hope to see you soon!

Childcare

Childcare is provided for all of the children who come to our MOMs program, thanks to our incredible team of volunteer caregivers.

Babies (under 2 years old) – in the Nursery (upstairs)

2’s & 3’s – in the Choir Room (#11/#8)

Preschoolers (ages 4/5) – in Classroom #19

*This fall we’re trying out a new format – adding a Toddler room for babies that can walk and young/easily overwhelmed 2-year-olds. It will be downstairs near the existing 2/3 room and 4/5 room – we’re still working out the details. Hopefully this will make things less overwhelming for our caregivers – we’ve got quite the herd of kids!

If the mother of a child is needed, one of the caregivers will bring the child to our meeting area.

A few little things to remember:

  • Please check in with the caregivers and introduce yourself when you arrive to drop off your child(ren)
  • Be sure that your child receives a nametag, including any special instructions about allergies, nap time, toilet training, etc.
  • Please label any items you bring for your child – bottles, soothers, sweaters, diaper bags, sippy cups
  • Snacks for the children are provided as part of your registration fee
  • Toddlers (ages 2/3) should bring along a spill-proof water container

As a courtesy to the caregivers and the other children, please do not bring your child if they are coughing, vomiting, or have a fever. If you’re not sure, you are welcome to keep your child with you during our session.
