This Week at Bethel MOM’s: Simplicity Parenting

You’ve been asking for it for years, and it keeps coming up around the circle. Simplicity Parenting!

It’s not rocket science, but apparently with todays busy lifestyles, consumerism telling you more is better, and the turmoil of the world Kim John Payne decided to write a book.

A parenting book.

A parenting book about how less is more….

Ok so apparently this epiphany is rocket science.  LOLs

We are going to discuss the book and how it pertains to our life. The nice thing is you don’t have to have read the whole book (or any of the book) to join in on the conversation. The concepts are pretty simple so come enjoy the discussion, ideas and the coffee as we mull over the four realms for simplifying:

Environment: De-cluttering too much stuff at home.simparent

Rhythm: Increasing predictability by introducing rhythmic moments for connection and calm.

Scheduling: Soothing violent schedules brings moments for Being into all the Doing.

Unplugging: Reducing the influence of adult concerns, media and consumerism on children and families to increase resilience, social and emotional intelligence.

Also, Leanne lent someone her Simplicity Parenting book and would love it back. If you have one and your not sure if it’s yours check the inside cover to see if her name is  there.

Lastly how have you simplified your life?
