Is your preshus snowflake getting on your nerves today? Take five minutes and read some Honest Toddler. For example: How To Do Laundry. It’s one of those trendy-viral things that is pretty funny right now, so join me on the bandwagon and giggle along. (I actually think the twitter feed is funnier – you can just read the page if you don’t have a twitter account.)
Bethel! So it doesn’t matter if it’s still raining. Is anyone else realizing how spoiled we were by the glorious early spring?
Update: Kathy from the church office phoned me to ask if the Lower Lounge could be used by another group tomorrow for a special function. Since it’s supposed to be a glorious day, I said that would be fine and we’ll play outside instead. So see you at the park outside instead!
Tammy asked me to post an announcement about Bethel’s annual garage sale – come check it out!

Come early to get good baking!
The nature playground at Assiniboine Park! I happen to think that the new setup is beyond cool, so we’ll probably head over there a few times. As usual, we’ll meet around 10, but keep in mind that hotspots like this one can be busy, so do what you need to do (bring backup or a baby containment unit like a stroller or carrier, pack extra-cool treats to use as bribes, etc).
Bethel! But if we have as many kids, especially active older ones, I suggest getting coffee and heading outside to play on the grass or the play structure on the corner. It got a bit chaotic last time, and this weather is too amazing to waste in my opinion. Of course, the beauty of Summer MOMs is that we’re super flexible, so show up and we’ll work it out from there.
My friend has organized a Facebook Winnipeg Crafter Destash Group. So if there is any craft supplies that you want to be rid of or are looking to find this would be a great place to go.
Danielle from our group has landed a new job (YAY!) but it’s put them in a tricky spot in terms of childcare (BOO!). She’s looking for someone to watch her son Grady on Mondays and Tuesdays until the middle of June. If you’d like to know more, please get in touch with her (or email us and we’ll put you in touch).
Vimy Ridge park! It’s our first park meetup. Feel free to nominate your favourite park for future.
See you there around 10ish!
Are you on Pinterest? I know there’s some controversy there… But there’s no denying that the site is chock full of mommy awesomeness just waiting to be found – if you’re following the right people/boards. This roundup of the best Pinterest boards for kids is a FABULOUS place to start – and sure to help fill up your days at home (or at least your mental reservoir of ideas).
What’s the coolest idea that you’ve found on Pinterest so far (and actually tried)?
