Recipe: Danielle’s Emergency Biscuits

Makes 12 biscuits

2 c flour
4 1/2 tsp baking powder
3 tbsp margarine
1/2 c raisins, craisins or maybe apricot
1 1/4 c milk
1 tsp vanilla

Mix flour, baking powder and raisins together. Cut in margarine until mixed.
Make well in centre and add milk and vanilla.

Bake until lightly brown – 350 to 375 degrees for 10 to 15 minutes.

If you just want plain biscuits (no raisins), add 1 tsp white sugar.

For Cinnamon Biscuits, use the above recipe with a few changes…
3 1/2 tsp baking powder
4 tbsp margarine
1 c milk
raisins optional

Mix dough as above. Place dough on floured surface and flatten until 1/4 inch thick.
Spread margarine on dough, spread brown sugar over margarine, sprinkle on cinnamon, and roll. Cut into 1 inch slices. Bake as above.
