I came across this article about Martha Stewart today – from the perspective of her daughter, who reports having a less than ideal childhood experience.
I don’t usually believe in making myself feel better about my own parenting by putting others down (unless we’re talking about Toddlers + Tiaras on TLC… that show makes me feel like the best mom EVER and I am TOTALLY judging).
But this is MARTHA we’re talking about. And honestly, I found it a little bit freeing to see that the whole Martha Stewart kind of all-around perfection is an illusion. Like maybe real moms DON’T do it all perfectly.
If nothing else, it kind of made me feel better about feeding my family something pre-fab and frozen for dinner tonight… WITHOUT swan origami napkins (hehe).
